Street Angels Chester recently commissioned a follow-up study from the University of Chester which confirmed that Street Angels Chester has become an ‘integral component’ of the city’s multi-agency approach to public safety. The new report, titled “Bright Nights: One Year of Safer Social Spaces” highlights significant growth in the project’s operational capacity, volunteer base, and impact across Chester’s night-time economy. Street Angels Birkenhead has successfully completed its pilot phase in March 2025. Following this, Dr Simone Benhafsi, University of Chester, has conducted a full independent evaluation—now published and available for public review.

Street Angels Chester, supported by Hitched Communities, has yet again helped the City of Chester to regain its Purple Flag accreditation in 2025.

Street Angels is a new project for Birkenhead set to establish during 2025, where trained volunteers will be roaming the streets during weekend nights to support people in vulnerable or difficult situations.
